Buying A Registration T&Cs | PrestigePrivatePlates
2.1 We sell registration marks owned by clients and our own stock. Vehicle registration numbers must be correctly displayed on your vehicle number plate we have images that show the registration showed in a manor which is for illustrative purposes only, they will need to be spelled and spaced in the correct ‘legal’ manor which will be in the title and description in brackets(). It is an offence to rearrange them to make them look like names or words or to alter them in any manner that makes the vehicle registration number difficult to read or identify, please check full description on each post to see how the plate should be legally spaced also will be in brackets on every item! Private registration plates can only be assigned to a vehicle which is registered, or about to be registered in mainland Britain and which is an appropriate age to receive the registration number. At the time of assignment the vehicle must be licensed, of a testable type and have a test certificate in force, if applicable. Once you have assigned your number it may be transferred to another vehicle subject to the DVLA’s transfer rules. It is an offence to mis-represent the registration in any way. You can make your car seem older than it actually is but you are not allowed to make it look newer. For example you cannot put an 11 number plate on a 07 plate car. Fancy or decorative fonts are also not allowed on car registration plates. You are allowed to put a UK or EU flag on the side of the car registration plate, but other symbols such as logo or football teams emblems are not permitted. Standard font and a 3D variation are the only fonts allowed to be displayed on a legal car registration plate. The correct size and spacing of characters on car registration plates is also very important, guideline on this can be found on registration plates section of this website. This can also ensure that you are not pulled over by the police for incorrect/illegal displaying of your car registration number plate.

Some registration numbers on DVLA V750 Certificate of Entitlements or DVLA V778 Retention Documents can take up to 4-6 weeks. In the rare circumstances, a transfer could take up to 12 weeks. Although we do often give you an idea of timescale for transfer to be completed at the point of sale this can vary due to unforeseen circumstances and the DVLA. It should be understood that where we are advertising a mark for a private seller, the mark is held by the seller until the transaction is complete, and not by PrestigePrivatePlates.co.uk, thus slow action on the part of the seller may occasionally cause delay. If we are unable to complete a transfer within 12 weeks of receipt of cleared funds and correct documentation from the purchaser, a full refund of all monies paid will be made upon request.
2.6 Once a transfer has been authorised by the DVLA in Swansea PrestigePrivatePlates.co.uk, disavows, and is free from, all liabilities regarding the mark in question.

2.9 Any full or part payment taken on a registration mark is non-returnable (unless the transfer cannot proceed due to the default of the donor or failure of the transfer at DVLA in Swansea). If part payment is taken at the point of sale the balance will be due within 7 days unless alternative payment arrangements were made and confirmed by PrestigePrivatePlates.co.uk in writing. Failure to pay the balance within the time limits may result in the forfeit of any monies paid and the registration mark will be placed back on the market.
2.10 All registration marks are sold subject to availability and although PrestigePrivatePlates.co.uk checks the availability of every registration mark before advertising and selling, we cannot accept responsibility should the registration become unavailable due to error, default or action on the part of a donor, or in the unlikely event of failure of the transfer at DVLA. In these circumstances PrestigePrivatePlates.co.uk will try and find a suitable replacement registration mark or refund the purchaser in full. Liability will be limited to a full refund. In cases where failure is in some way due to the fault of the purchaser, no liability will be accepted and no claims for damages, interest on monies paid or any other expenses will be entertained.
